SPECIFICATIONS

No matter the specifications you give us, we will find a way to provide a solution, even if that means investing in new technology – because we’re invested in you. Our driven, knowledgeable and experienced team will solve your problems efficiently and effectively, helping you to confidently and accurately get results.

Materials of Construction

After over 30 years in the business, we have experience working with just about every high performance alloy and biocompatible material used to make wire components. If you’re not sure what material would be best to use, our engineering team would be happy to assist you in determining the best choice to fit your needs. Since the material list is vast, we’ve provided a grouping of material families below:

  • Stainless Steels (302, 304, 304V, including High Tensile 304V, 316L and 316LVM)
  • High Performance Alloys (MP35N, 35NLT, Elgiloy and CCM)
  • Precious Metal Alloys (Platinum, Platinum Iridium, Platinum Tungsten, Tantalum, Gold, Silver)
  • Titanium Alloys
  • Tungsten Alloys
  • Copper Alloys (Beryllium Copper (BeCu), Beryllium Nickel (BeNi))
  • High Temperature Alloys (including Inconel, X750 and Hastelloy)
  • Specialty Alloys
  • Nitinol
  • And more!

Shapes & Sizes

Though we generally work with round material, we have experience with almost every shape – flat, square, rectangular, rectangular on edge, elliptical and custom profiles. The size of a material we are able to work with is based on the shape and type of the material as well as the geometry of the parts. We recommend you call us for details regarding application to your specific components, but you’ll find some general guidelines below:

  • Round material – 0.0005″ to 0.080″ in diameter
  • Shaped materials – rectangular and square materials (0.001″x 0.003″ to 0.064″x 0.064″)
  • Rectangular material formed on edge
  • Custom – for assistance with custom shapes, please call 231-865-7400

Tolerances

Manufacturing tight tolerance, high precision micro wire components and assemblies is our specialty! We use consistent and repeatable processes, yet ensure that tolerances are specific to each individual part produced. Data is collected on each process based on the critical characteristics of your parts and dimensional reports are provided to establish the tolerances of each attribute required. General tolerances include:

  • Micro Spring ODs
    • Micro Springs +/- 0.0002″
    • Standard sized springs +/- 0.002″
  • Micro Spring Lengths
    • Micro Springs +/- 0.002″
