Motion Dynamics values the employee experience.
Motion Dynamics is a manufacturing company like no other, not only in the work they do but in how they do it. Unlike other manufacturers where employees can feel like a cog in the machine or like just another number, Motion Dynamics values a positive employee experience.
“I feel supported when I come into work,” says winder operator Korbin Mulder. “I feel like everyone has my back and there are systems in place to help me when I need it. I feel like I’m respected and treated well when I come to work.”
Indeed, this tone is set by the leadership team, who strive to treat each employee as an individual while at the same time reminding them regularly that they are an essential part of the team.
“The culture of Motion Dynamics from the top to the bottom, there really isn’t a bottom because everyone is very open to suggestions and ideas, all the way to our president and CEO,” says manufacturing engineer Andrew DeYoung. To this point, other employees note the benefit of the weekly meeting led by Motion Dynamics president Chris Witham, where they receive updates on company progress and are personally invited to provide feedback and suggestions.
One employee says it plainly – “They treat us like people, not numbers.”
Witham emphasizes the difference each person can make at a small company, saying, “When you’re in a large company like General Motors, it’s very difficult for an individual to make a significant difference. When you’re here at Motion Dynamics, every individual makes a difference here.”
